CLHSS HISTUHU One brught and shlny day In the fall of 47 a few frughtened freshmen embarked on the slrppery ocean enroute to the land of stuffed shurt sensors After wandersng aimlessly through Davy Jones laluas Shorty Malon sJ corrudors for a few weeks we decided we would elect the bug fushes of our classes They were Clark Wuns low presndent Bull Browning vuce presldent Joan Gnbbons secretary and Janet Davls treas urer Our comnng out party the Freshman Re ceptron provuded our unntral Benhu thrall and we were delughtecl to be at last considered bona llde members of the hugh school student body ln 48 our course steadned a but and we came to know Malon s Alley better We ac quured more responsnbllrtues and prnvuleges As Sophomores we were allowed to joan the G A A the athletrc teams and other organlzatlons that as Freshmen were sealed tlght un Shorty Malon s locker and needless to say Red held the key That year our class officers were Tommy Sucnlrano presndent Bob Curran vrce president Ellen Tnfft secretary and Barbara Taylor treasurer We let ut be known by means of the Atlantsc cable that we were or derung the jewelry that would brand us forever as Benhr grads Our Junror year was a year of great anx lety and our humble bark nearly capsuzed an mud stream Our helmsman that year was Jack Evans Dems Maynard was vlce presldent Sally Nelson secretary and Fred Towslee was treas urer Our class rnngs fmally arrived and we thought they were just about the best ever seen around Benhu The Sensors sponsored the Junuor Prom nn our honor wnth Ann Crosler and Fred Towslee rengnung Near the close of the school year Bob Park carrued off the honors rn the Junnor Pruze Speakung Contest supportrng Socualnzed Medicine At graduatlon a number of our members served as Junior Marshalls We held our thnrd annual pncnuc at Hedges Lake Bull Brownung Fred Towslee Dems Maynard Bob Park John Hutton and Chrus Gullette gourneyed to Nor wlch Umverssty nn Northfueld to attend Boys State Vermont Junuor College un Montpeluer was host to Girls Staters Ellen Tufft Bobble O Nerll Peggy Burkman Norma Dnckneson and Bette Moss At last we were the flgureheads the Sen 1ors wrth all the munnows In Malon s Alley lookmg up to us We had nearly run our course and the next few months would be centered around graduation plans Now In offsce were Jack Evans President Denus Maynard Vlce Pres: dent Bull Barschdorf Secretary and Mary Catherme Evltt Treasurer We posed for our portraits recelved call :ng cards put on the Chrustmas Cotlllron and Junnor Prom and edited our yearbook under the guidance of Mass White Mr Doug proved mvaluable as our class advusor Ellen Tnfft was chosen D A R gurl Sensor week with nts banquet pncnnc Sensor Ball pre Commencement Exercuses and Graduatlon arrived all too soon Those were the good old days and Benhl ns now only a memory 1 .
