f1 fw At the District Music Contest the Girls' Trio Janet, Carol, and Lois sang nThe Surrey with the Frinpe on Top These girls were also in the sextette, which sang 'June is Busting Out All Over, and in the triple trio, which sang NBeautiful Savior These three also sang solos William, Carol, Clarence, Lois, and Janet participated in declam Clarence and William were in the one act play nListen Dadn which received a superior rating The Junior Class Play, nEverything Happens to Us, was a success Two casts were used to put on the play because of the big class One cast presented it the 13th and the second the lhth of November Larry and Elvera were the Junior representatives to the Governor s Youth Safety Conference The juniors had successful candidates for King and Queen for the PTA Carnival They were Terry C and Violet R The Boys' State representative was John Dyer, and Terry L represented Ben nington at the Red Cross Camp The Curtis Company sponsored the Juniors' magazine campaign Cut of the 387, Sl sale, the class kept p305 30 of whlch some was used to entertain the seniors and faculty at the annual Junior Senior Banquet Tn the campaign Clarence led the class with a total sales of WISE 25 Janet was second with a total of 93h 33 The theme of the banquet, held at the Fireside Restaurant in Omaha on hay 13, was uAn Evening in Paris On August 29 1959, all seventeen seniors reported for their last year They were Lois, Carol, Janet,Mary, Rlvera, Clarence, Howard, William, Kenneth L , Terry C , Terry L , Kenneth P , Larry, Alvin, Dick, John Dyer Vice President, Janet Perchal Secretary, and Carol Johnsen Treasurer The faculty consisted of the following Miss sdna Mohr, Nr Nelson, Mr Julius Woita, Mrs Rita Japp, Mr R Velson, Mr Harold Rhea, and Mrs Mary Frederick Subjects taken by the seniors were shop, home economics, English, American problems, office practi e, chemistry, and advanced aleebra FIVE boys reported for baseball, Carol and Lois were the only enior girls to report for volleyball All but two enior girls were in the Pep Club Lois, Janet, and Carol were first tear cheerleaders All but one of the seniors girls were in girls' glee and mlxed chorus The class chose blue and white as their class colors and the red rose as their cla s flower The senior class motto was 'Every Job, blg or small, we do it well or not at all H The seniors were in charge of the Freshmen Orientation when the freshmen were asked to wear various odd costumes during the day October 7 was the day senior pictures were taken in Cmaha by o lund Studlo, and the clas attend d tie rovle HS utr Paclflc The Betty Crocker Homemaker's Contest was taken by all the senior girls, and Mary was the local winner receiving a pin as a reward To get extra money for their trip to Chicago the class held a bake sale at the Pennington Hardware in the afternoon of March 26 and a car wash on April 16 Taking the Regents' Examinations were Dick Musel, Lois Mohr, Terry Loptin, Terry Christensen, Mary Allnon, and Alvin Westphal Unfortunately, no one was able to place Mary was the senior girl selected to attend the DAR Contest She wrote on nkhat are the advantages of democracy over a dictatorship H -- D , V I! fl C I T M .
