“HISTORY Seventeen members enrolled in the freshman class on the opening day The class was the largest in many years The members of the class were Linda Bunz, Lois Mohr, Carol Johnsen, nD1ckn Musel, Larry Holmes, George Shipley, and Clarence Laaker who had graduated from the Benning ton School, Kenneth Lambrecht and Terry Christensen from District S2 Janet Perchal and William Cloudt, D1str1ct 633 John Dyer, Distrlct M3 Elvera Paasch, District 26' Alvin Westphal and Margaret Liesche, D15 trict 3h, Violet Rix, D1StPlCt hug and Terry Loptln, Washington County Irene Hoffman who moved here from Grand Island joined the class during the first week in December, and George moved to Alaska In April, Richard Ober from Hooper Joined the class All the freshmen took English, general mathematics, biology, an world geography The officers of the class were President Janet Vice President Kenneth, Secretary Clarence, and Treasurer Lois They were replaced by nD1ck,n william, John, Terry L ,and respectively Mr Marvin Greenwood was their class sponsor The class was initiated by the seniors on September 23 The COS tumes were as follows Elvera Dennis the Menace, Lois Negro man, Jan et Buckwheat, Linda cowboy, Violet business man, Carol farmer, Mar garet Llttle Abner, Alvin model, George bathing beauty Kenneth jeans and sweater, Dick woman in the morning, William Indian, John Negro mammy, Larry Daisy Mae, Terry L Negro baby, Clarence circus strong man, and Terry C Bermuda shorts and high heels Most of the class took music All the boys except Clarence and Kenneth played baseball and basketball with Dick on the first team of both, wlth a good record ln both Wllliam, Terry C , John, Terry L D1ck,H Larry, Alvin, and Richard all took an active part in trac the girls except Irene were pep club members and also played volleyball Lois, Carol, and Janet were the second team cheerleaders Other fresh men who tried out were Linda and Elvera follows Carol Johnsen participated 1D Interpretative Public Address, Janet Perchal, Oral Interpretation of Drama Wllliam Cloudt and Lois Linda Bunz, Oral Interpretation of Prose Literature, Lois Mohr and were members of the One Act Play 'Father Says No'n Vlolet, Janet, Linda, Carol, and Margaret were among tnose who tried out for parts In an intramural ping pong tournament Dick, Carol, and Lois were among those playing for championships Janet and George were carnival candidates for king and queen Linda and Janet served as pep club officers, and Lois and Carol were on the first eight of the volleyball eam In the nActiv1ty Round Upn held in April Linda, Violet, Lois and Janet were in the girls' sextette hey sang Nqtranger 1n Paradise Lois as a member of a duet sang nTell Me Why and nMister'Moon The girls' trio of which Janet was a member sang He For his accordion solo Clarence played NSharpshooter Marchn and NJul1da Polka Margaret, Carol, and Linda were in the one act play cast for 'The Laughlng Ghost N WNW On September 2, 1957, sixteen members who finished the former year, enrolled for their sophomore year Richard Ober enrolled with the class but stayed only two weeks and then moved to Virginia On March I9 Mary Allmon who had moved from Missouri Valley,Iowa, joined the class Linda Bunz moved to Omaha during the summer and attended Westside High School For the lst semester, class officers were President Lois, Vice President Clarence, Secretary Terry C Treasurer Janet The second semester's officers were as follows President Larry, Vice President John, Secretary Terry L , Treasurer Lois . .
