OUR LADY OF WISDOM As students of a school dedicated to our Blessed Mother. under the title of Our Lady of Wisdtwm. we have come to regard her with a special affection and devotion. To remind us of her constant. loving presence a shrine in the entrance of the school has been 1-ref-ted and special devotions are held in her honor. Throughout our daily classes we invoke her aid in matters of scholastic achievement. Leaving school we pray her mercy. grace. protection, and bountiful assistance shall continue to flirt-ct us in our aim of hringringr peace in the truth. charity, and justice of Christ to all people.

. LET IT BEG1 WITH ME l 5 Bishops' relief fund Students visit the Blessed Sacrament The chapel provides unlimited spiritual opportunities for the student body. Be- sides daily visits to the Blessed Sacrament, the chapel is used on special occasions, for the conferring of ashes, the blessing of throats and the meditation on the Stations of the Cross. During Lent a collection is held for the Bishops' Relief. The proceeds are usedlto help the world-wide needy, underprivileged children. Each homeroom competes in the campaign for the highest sum donated. It is but one of the many ways through which we can practice the virtue of charity. Blessing of throats 9 I

The organization originally, before our Cath- olic High School was built, existed to insure the spiritual strength of Catholic students who were unable to receive Catholic secondary education. With its aim being spiritual development, its exercises are concentrated on cultivating and fulfill- ing the spiritual lives of its members. Observances of Holy Hours and Communion Sundays play an important role in the carrying out of its aim. Spiritual and Corporal works of mercy are also among the exercises promoted. Once a year, in a designated period, observance of a National Cath- olic Youth Week is held. During this week daily Mass and Communion are encouraged. C.Y.O. is not, however, without its social side. Dances, parties, and other forms of entertainment are sponsored. While with the completion of Catholic High School the need for a Catholic Youth Organization has decreased, it is still an excellent opportunity for the public expression of our faith. ST.
