Class Prophecy Who was it that said there were not signs of success in the hearts and minds of those 1960 Seniors of Good old Bennett High''—-was it you? Ah, yes, no doubt. But you know...while preparing for oursummer vacation, we decided to find as many of our fellow graduates as we could. Our first ambition was to travel back to Bennett. We are, incidentally, EMMA JEAN WILLETT, now nurs- ing at Cone's Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, and DONALD MANESS, auto racer of the Darlington 500 in South Carolina. As we stopped by the car lot in Bennett, we found RECIL LEONARD selling Fords instead of Chevrolets. We stopped at the high school and, much to our a- mazement, JIMMY KIDD, was principal, and LINDA JONES was secretary of the school. Among those in the medical field in Bennett were: GARLAND BRADY, town's most reliable physician; and BILL BRADY, well-known dentist, who has discovered a new chemical-molecular-acid, which is really important in fixing false teeth. Then we drove ouver to LOUISE BREWER's. She's now happily married and employed in her husband's business, raising prize Cows. Too bad NETTIE MARGARET and MARIE got married er and quit their jobs as models in New York City. But, we did find out that DEMPSEY MOORE now has his own T.V. show, The Thin Man. We also found out that CAROL LAMBERT has now joinedthe Army to be near herhusband, who isa sergeant. BILLY WELCH is in California designing women's bathing suits. LINDA HUSSEY, who wonthe Miss America title in 1965, is his No. 1 model. We visited the famous Opera House in Bennett, and we found that JUDY ANN is now appearing as a Soprano. Those girls who have become executive secretaries are: MARY JOYCE COX, of the F. B.I. in Washington; MARGARET COX, of the State Prison, who is none other than the Warden's wife. EDITH GARNER really fooled fate by choosing her vocation. She sells Tussey products. Do you suppose she just likes Midnight? WAYLON MANESS has just come back from New York, where he appeared on the $64,000 Question. He failed to answer the question, but won an old 1959 Cadillac. And now in 1970, as we gaze back over these past ten years, we marvel at the success and happiness that seem to cling to those Seniors of 1960. DONALD MANESS EMMA JEAN WILLETT Prophesiers

Class History We, the Seniors of NineteenHundred and Sixty, know it's the end of our years at Bennett High School. We were all excited when we entered the ninth grade. We began our Freshman year with Mrs, Betty Caviness as our homeroom teacher. We elected our class officers as: President, Linda Hussey; Vice-President, Emma Jean Willett; Secretary, Recil Leonard; and Treasurer, Dwight Brady. As Freshmen, we were very proud of Nettie Mar- garet Purvis winning as Harvest Queen in the contest at the annual Halloween Carnival. Also, we were very proud to win the Polio Drive and thrilled to win the Class Tour- nament. We began our Sophomore year with Mrs. Harmon as our homeroom teacher. Our class officers were: Linda Hussey, President; Tommy Harwood, Vice-President; Judy Welch, Secretary; and Emma JeanWillett, Treasurer. We sold school pins to begin raising money to give our ban- quet. Emma Jean Willett won the title of Harvest Queen. We began our Junior year with Mrs. Charlotte Cavi- ness asour homeroom teacher. Class officerswere: Nettie 26 Margaret Purvis, President; Linda Hussey, Vice-President; Louise Brewer, Secretary; Judy Ann Welch, Treasurer. Selling shampoo and hand cream, we finally raised e- nough money to give the banquet. What fun we had de- corating for the great night, the theme of which was 'Song In My Heart. Long will we all remember how proud we felt to be hosts to the Seniors. Seniors! We entered the twelfth grade as Seniors with Mrs. Betty Caviness as our homeroom teacher again. The class elected Bill Brady, President; Linda Hussey, Vice- President; Linda Jones, Treasurer; Judy Welch, Secretary. What an experience it was to give the Senior play! Regardless of all the work, though, we really enjoyed it. As proud as we had been last year to be hosts at the banquet, we enjoyed even more being guests this year. The Juniors really went all-out to give us the best! Soon we will be separating and each one will go his way. We will never forget the wonderful times we have had at Bennett High School.
