MISS SANDRA WALKER teaches Mythology, English Il, and American and English Literature. She received her B.A. from D'Youville. She feels that High School students are more willing to accept differences in others and are generally much more liberal. She is the advisor of Harbinger. E GLISH Bennett's English Department is designed to meet the needs of each student. In past years, old traditions in grammar have been revised and the emphasis placed on the development of an appreci- ation of the English language. The Department has further expanded with the introduction of mini courses for Freshman English students. Students go from course to course three times yearly to receive a wider variety of skills. Therefore, the tradition of one teacher serving the needs of each student has been done away with. This innovative program offers students the guidance of three English teach- ers. ln addition, Seniors are offered a wide variety of electives. including Black Writers, World Liter- ature, and Reader's Theatre to name a few. Perhaps these approaches will motivate more students to learn the necessary skills to meet the challenges of a complex society. MR. LEON S. SCHOR teaches Language Arts and American Lit. He received his B.A. at Hofstra and has also attended Brown University, and the University of Buffalo. Mr. Leon Schor's favorite past time is the 1860's. 28 '-E?

MS. ALLENE BUCKLEY teaches Mass Media. English II. and Readers along with advising the BEACON staff, She obtained her B.S. at Y.A.B. and her M.S. at S.U.C.A.B. Ms. Buckley enjoys writing and the along with visiting former students. Q' 5. it MR. VICTOR LAMA teaches Folklore, Mythology, Mass Media, Drama and Sophomore Writing here at Bennett High. I-Ie received his M.S. and M.A. legrees at S.U.N.Y.A.B. In his spare time, Mr. Lama enjoys camping. fishing, vriting. reading. and teaching. v MRS. DONNA M. STEVENS is a pretty lady who teaches English I and III in room 2.69. With her radiant personality she conducts classes that are enjoyed by all of her students. She received her B.S. amd M.S. at S.U.C. at Buffalo.
