Benneii I-lull of Fume MARILYN BASS Certainly one of the most talented members of Bennetts student body is Marilyn Bass. There is no one who. at one time or another. has not been thrilled by her amazing dexterity at the organ. Bee Gee has also served as aecompanist for the Special Chorus and has partitfipated in the band. orchestra. and variety shows. In June she will be the proud reeipient of the Gold Music' Pin. Musie has not been her only eontribution to Bennett. She has served her elassmates well as Vit-e-President of the Junior Class and as Girls' Marshal of this yt-ar's graduating' elass. Her excellent sehoolwork has earned her the highest honor award. the Jewelled Honor Pin. But wait. theres more! Marilyn has been an invaluable asset to the Bennett BEACON. As a sophomore she oerupied the position of Assistant Music- Editor. She was Co-editor of the .Junior Column and this year is Co-editor of the Music Column. Bee Gee will soon add the Gold BEACON Pin to her long list of awards. She has been a member of the German Club and the Legion of Honor. Marilyn is an avid fan of pizza, jazz. jltl0l'bt1gg'iI'lf3,'. yellow Chevys, and the song All About Ronnie . It was hard for her to find any- thing she really disliked but finally admitted that waiting' for busses. any kind of math. and insineere people are her main peeves. She will enter the University of Buffalo in the fall to prepare herself for a career in musie. an endeavor in whit-h she Can not help but succeed. As Marilyn Bass leaves Bennett. I am sure all who have known her ean readily say. May your troubles all be small ones. and your for- tune ten times ten. l'lILEEN l l'NCHlCON Glad to be at Bennett, and happy to do her share and more, the effervesc-ent Punrhy has filled her book of memories with deeds well done. Her friends and classmates like her spirit and have shown their esteem by eleeting her to numerous ofliees. sueh as Secretary of the Junior Class. Vice-President of the Senior Class, Treasurer. President. and chapter-wide President of the Junior Red Cross Count-il. and Vice- President of the Legion of Honor. She is a member of the Senior Girls' Hi-Y and has partieipated in the Variety Show. She prefers the aetive life swnnmingg daneing, and the Company of enthusiastie people, Her dislikes are eontined to foods. speeifieally pizza and mustard, The future for Eileen is as bright as the present. Next year she hopes to continue her studies at Cornell University. The School of Home Eeonomies will find in her the same happy outlook which we have admired. YYILLIAM Gl,l'I.-KSNICR Bill Gleasner, eharaeterized by his friendliness, eooperativeness. leadership and popularity. is one of the best-liked students at Bennett. And it is not surprising. for he has done mueh to make Bennett a better sehool for all, Football. basketball, swimming and baseball. in that order . are the key fat-tors in at-e athlete XYilliam Gleasners life. Bill has played for the Tigers for four years, three bringing him major letters. All Bennett fans will espeeially remember the muddy November day in the fall of 1952 when Bill's ,e'olden toe kit-ked the point-after-toueh- down that brought us the Harvard Cup. Friendly. popular Bill has aehieved suet-ess as able president of the Student Couneil. XVe ean see his loyalty to Bennett by learning that he professes a liking' for Bennett Speeials. lee Cream sandwiehes are a favorite too but Bill says he ean't tolerate people who always have a spiteful remark to make. The University of Mieliigan is the t-ollege Bill has eliosen. where he plans to study business adniinistration. On eompletion of his eollege eonrse, he will bet-ome a partner in his fathers business. Bennett beat-ons the best to Bill in his business eareer. 13
