■■ Clothing Majors Present New York Sights and Sounds Clothing students presen- ted their annual Spring Fashion Show. It was planned by the senior ma- jors and based on their stimulating fall visit to New York City ' s fashion district. They featured original millinery designs. Majors were Jerrylyn Davis, Jackie Dickerson, and Terreessa Williams. Mrs. Louise G. Streat, chairman of the Home Ec Dept., advised the seniors. -i- f ' I Two Special Cultural Programs Black Composer Highlights Library Week Dr. Undine Smith IVIoore, one of the few black women composers, l eynoted Bennett ' s celebra- tion of National Library V eek. She spol e for the morning assembly and conducted a seminar on black music. During the assembly, the choir performed two musical selections composed especially for them. Guest Dance Group The Hampton Institute Dance Co., the Terpsichoreans, presented The Essence of Movement. Under the direction of Bennett alumna Jean Braxton, the group performed from spirituals such as Amazing Grace. Two young men highlighted the event. 18 mwnm
