Founders ' Weekend Activity Varies Bennett observed its 103rd anniversary, Oct. 7-10. Keynoting the celebration were alumna Rose Withers Catchlngs and former statesman Robert C. Weaver. Mrs. Catchlngs, also a college trustee, is Executive Secretary, Ministry of Women ' s Office, World Division of the Board of Global Ministries, the United Methodist Church. She keynoted an assembly. Having traveled extensively throughout the world, she stated that Bennett women are very much involved in the liberation struggle on the international scene. She Is in- volved in finding channels to open up avenues of com- munication with foreign governments on problems of politically involved women. After a luncheon for international students, sponsored by Mrs. Isaac H. Miller, International Women ' s Day was highlighted by an exhibit and International Student Forum. On Friday night, the Music Department presented Hatt, based on the life of Harriett Tubman. Guest speaker for the Founders ' Convocation was Dr. Robert C. Weaver, one time head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He challenged black institutions to overcome thinking of its challenges and problems purely in racial terms. Dr. Miller was also honored for his 10 years. 15

It was planned by the senior ma- jors and based on their stimulating fall visit to New York City ' s fashion district. They featured original millinery designs.
