PRESIDENT ' S STATEMENT Much is said today about the need to make education more relevant to the specific needs of the individual. It seems appropriate to suggest that all knowledge has relevance - the meaning is there, but man must find it and relate it to his condition. Bennett College is dedicated to the task of developing in her students the capacity to make the crucial correlations. The people who will make a significant impact on our society will be those who can identify the critical needs of man and commit their lives to meeting these needs. We like to think that this type or readiness characterizes the Bennett Student. We take much pride in the Class of 1969 for we are confident that among its members there are many who will ask the important questions and provide the crucial answers. We are confident that this is a class of young women who are ready to provide the creative and responsible leadersliip which is needed for a new society. As the graduates move to the next level of creative endeavor, the prayers, best wishes, and hearty congratulations of the Bennett Community go with them. We are a part of each other and are keenly aware that the extent to which this institution has served its objectives will be measured by the successes of the graduates, and the degree to which they become change agents in society. The Yearbook keeps alive and fresh the many memories of college days. This record of a very important interlude, captured in picture and word, academic and informal, will have ever increasing significance as the years gather. We express sincere appreciation and congratulations to the Yearbook Staff for capturing so effectively the flavor of the Bennett Experience. 12
