Class News There are seven Semors 1n the graduatmg class Class offlcers are Presldent Lelghton Gustafson Vlce Presxdent Jlm Hagaman Secretary Treasurer Letha Roeder The class selected Not Flmshed Just Begun' for a Motto the wh1te rose thelr flower and maroon and sxlver as thelr class colors All members of the Senlor class are actlve ln aCtlVltl6S Ellene Cheney and Paul W1les are cheerleaders The class play Two Days To Marry' was glven on Aprxl 28th A large number attended the play tlckets amountmng to S90 O0 were sold The Senxors left Sunday afternoon May 4th for Kansas Clty Mlssourl where they spent Sneak Day The class had a very lnterestlng and enjoyable trlp May 6th the Senlors were honored at a banquet glven by the Jumors The theme Hawauan Cru1se was carrled out mn the beaut1fully decorated gymnaslu Baccalaureate servlces were held May 18th ln the Bennet Commumty Church Class nlght was May 19th at the hlgh school One of the hlghhght events of the evenmg was the presentatlon of the gxft from the Semor class to the school a trophy to be engraved and presented to the outstandmg Semor 1n act1v1t1es each year Thls Senlor 1s to be chosen by popular vote of the student body w1th the exceptxon of the Sen1ors Th1s years select1on was Jxm Hagaman The Senlors of '52 hope th1s wlll be somethmg for the future Semors to work for Commencement exerclses were held May ZZ The speaker was Dr Leslle Chlsholm of the Unlverslty of Nebraska After the pre sentatxon of the Elghth grade dlplomas Mr Prochaska presented three medals one for school splrlt to Letha Roeder athlet1cs to Harold Kempkes and scholarsh1p to Ellene Cheney E1lene belng val1d1ctor1an was also presented wmth the church school scholarshmp Lelghton Gustafson recelvecl a Nebraska Un1VETSlty Regents scholarsh1p Exlene Cheney recexved an alternate Regents scholarshxp We are very proud of our class for thelr many talents musxc athletlcs dramatxcs and scholastxcs The Junlor class has fxfteen menbers and IS represented xn many var1ous school act1v1t1es ln November the class presented a three act comedy Man In The House lt was very well attended the class havmg sold over 95 OO ln tlckets Seven of the Junxor glrls were on the flrst twelve of the volleyball team and flve of the boys were on the fxrst ten of the basketball team Four of our members entered the Declamatory Contest wmnlng two superlors one excellent and two goods for the school The majorlty of our class 1s 1n the Glee Clubs We had three sololsts for the mus1c contests w1nn1ng two super1ors and flve excellents In May the Junlors gave a formal banquet for the Senmors the theme bemg Hawauan Crulse ' The class ended thexr year by a combmatxon mcnlc and theatre party Il ' ' - I ' , , as , . ll I ' ' , . , . . , , , ,, , , .
