Professor Lowin graduated from college magna cum laude and was editor-in-chief ofthe Harvard Journal on Legislation. He is a mem- ber ofthe firm ofGuggenheimer 8: Untermyer, New York City. His practice encompasses estate taxation, planning, and administration, and he is the author of articles on the special problems of estate planning for art collectors. x- WO gi- DONALD J. RAPSUN Adjunct Professor of Law. B.A., 1951, .l.D., 1954, Columbia University. Professor Rapson has been with the firm of Lautman, Rapson, Henderson 84 Mills fAsbury Park and Manasquan, N.J.J since 1960. He is a member of the American Law Institute and the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code and its 3-4-8 Committee. He was a consultant to the New York Law Revision Commission in its original studies of the UCC in 1954-56. He is lecturer in law at Columbia Law School and adjunct associate professor of law at New York Universi- ty. Professor Rapson has published extensively in the area of commercial law and has been a lecturer for, among others, the Annual Uniform Commercial Code Institute, Practicing Law Institute, American Law Institute, New Jersey Institute for Continu- ing Legal Education, Bank Lawyers Conference, and Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys. I-Ie was chairman of the New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners 11970-751. CAROLY REED Adjunct Professor of Law, B.A., .l.D., University of Kansas Since 1981 she has been serving as Counsel, International Govern- ment Affairs for Avon Products,Inc. From 1979-80 she held the position of National Treasurer, Kennedy for President Committee. She has also served as Deputy Counsel, House Administration Com- mittee, U.S. House of Representatives and as Assistant General Counsel, Director of Congressional Relations, Federal Election Commission. Professor Reed brings to Cardozo a knowledge of and experience with the electoral process from both the Democratic and Republican side.

B.S., 1946, Temple University, J.D., 1983, New York Law School. . Professor Levin served as president of the Book Group, Times Mirror Company, 1966-83, and is currently a consultant to the company. His prior publishing experi- ence was with Grosset 84 Dunlap, 1950-66, where he reached the position of senior vice president. He is a former chairman of the American Association of Publishers, currently serves on a number of boards, and is a member of the Library of Congress Center for the Book Executive Committee. AU LLE LE Y Associate Professor of Law. B.A., 1973, Reed College, J.D., 1976, University of Chicago Law School. After graduation from the University of Chicago School of Law, Professor Levy served as law clerk to Judge Wade H. McCree, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He then worked as Special Assistant to the Solicitor General of the United States. For the past five years he has been an attorney at the Public Citizen Litigation Group, a Washington D.C. public interest law firm founded by Ralph Nader. Professor Scott-McLaughlin has been a staff attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York City since his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1978. In addition to his active federal litigation docket throughout the country, Professor Scott-McLaugh- lin has lectured frequently at law schools and conferences on civil rights issues. He is a member of the National Conference of Black Lawyers, board member of the Affirmative Action Coordination Center, and coordinator of the Legal Task Force of National Anti- Klan Network. MICHAEL S. ROSS Adjunct Professor of Law. B.A., 1971, Rutgers University, J.D., 1974, New York University. Professor Ross graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rugters University, where he won over 65 intercollegiate debate awards, and was note and comment editor of the New York University Review of Law and Social Change and a member ofthe International Moot Court Team at New York University Law School. Currently a partner in the firm of LaRossa, Axenfeld 8a Mitchell, from 1974 to 1978 Professor Ross was an assistant district attorney in Kings County, and from 1978 through 1982 he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, Criminal Division. He is a member of the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, United States Attorney General's Advocacy Institute, and other state-wide trial advocacy training programs, Professor Ross is a frequent lecturer on trial practice and criminal law at various legal continuing education programs and has published a number of articles on these subjects. He currently serves as a member of the Associa- tion of the Bar ofthe City of New York's Committee on Criminal Justice Operations and Budget. CHARLES B. PDIKE Adjunct Professor of Law. B.A., 1961, Amherst College, M.A., 1964, George Washington University, LL.B., 1967, Harvard University. Professor Updike is a partner in the firm of Schoeman, Marsh, Updike Sc Welt, New York City. From 1968 to 1972 he was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, and from 1972 to 1976 an associate in the firm of Debevoise, Plimpton, Lyons 84 Gates. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's Special Committee on the Proposed Federal Criminal Code. He has been instructor in trial practice at Harvard Law School and the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Edu- cation-New England Law Institute.
