! K mS ' vJ iJ H r B ' ' ll 1 M Black Student Union The B.S.U. is the voice of the Black students. It was formed in Cardozo so that the Black students could ex- press themselves, concerning the present school structure. In order to confine themselves to specific topics, the B.S.U. 10 Point Program was written. The 10 Point Pro- gram relates to all students in New York State. Cardozo ' s B.S.U. is endeavoring to establish the coalitions with many Black oriented organizations. The B.S.U. publishes a newspaper called The Political Educator. It deals with Black poetry, Black literature, community news, school problems and social events. They are also helping to establish a Black library in the Mollis area of Queens. The B.S.U. works with the Leadership class for im- provements in the school. They have tutorial programs and rap sessions — trying to establish a Basic under- standing among students. The rap sessions are part of the new Peer Group Program. The B.S.U. has also gotten speakers representing other organizations such as C.O.R.E., NAACP, Young Lords and the Panther Party to come to Cardozo.
