Student Organization Electing officials in your Student Organization is one of the most impor- tant decisions made in your High School career. It is these people who will represent your school and build it to what it should be — an institution which supports and works for you — the student. When an S.O. is weak, either because of non-support or lack of produc- tion, the school too, becomes weak. There is no binding force to remind the students that they are all one. At this time, Cardozo ' s S.O. is somehow lacking. It can be working to achieve unity in the school, both politically and socially, but without the necessary support it will go nowhere. When a function is organized and has to be cancelled for lack of participation, that is a flaw. When an S.O. con- gress meeting is called and less than one-quarter of the representatives show up, that too, is a flaw. Something is wrong, something must change. A school is a structured organization. Its goal is to educate. Education, however, takes many forms. Using and working with student government is part of your total education. Trying to improve your school is also part of your education. Work with your S.O., accept what is yours. With learning there is life and with life there is everything. SO. OFFICERS: (L. to R.) Larry Hyatt, Vice-President; Carolyn Vance, Trea- surer; Kent Atweil, President; Kathy Keen, Secretary.
