Cardozo ' s cross country team in its second year of compe- tition continued on a winning tread. TInree victories and two losses were recorded by this varsity team. Once again, Captain Donald Allen and Co-Captain Curtis Smalls played major roles along with Robert Love, Stan Martin, Joseph Bartner, and Dan Rachlin. In indoor competition, the team developed slowly in the early meets. In the Queens Indoor Champs, Don Allen placed high in the standings in the two mile run, and Paul Scales in the 60 yard dash. Allen and Scales also ran well in the All City Mayors Meet held in February. In the New York City Indoor Champs, six members of the team, placed within the top five positions in their events. Outstanding performances were ex- hibited by Eddie King, Donn Gerald, and Bob Madison. Coach Joe Sansone has developed the team into a produc- tive segment of Cardozo sports. Honorable mention goes to graduates Donald Allen, Curtis Smalls, Ronald Ambrose, and Paul Scales for their outstanding ability exhibited as members of the team, and their well developed athletic ability. 132
