What are you doing here? Shorts Story 93 Last and Testament We, rhe Silver Anniversary Class of Benjamin Franklin High School, being of limited sanity (thanks to the five years of struggling to become seniors) and having contemplated a just distribution of our wealth, do hereby bequeath all of our earthly possessions and some of our unearthly ones in the following manner: To Mr, Sabin, who has guided us through the past five years, we leave a package of silver-plated memories and our heartfelt thanks for all his help. To Mr. Francis we award a contract with N. B, C. allowing him the use of their chimes to wake up the students in homeroom. To Miss Sullivan and Mr. Applebee we leave a large economy-sized bottle of Bufferin and a game of Scrabble that will spell out our Thanks. To all senior homeroom teachers we bequeath Dr. Mock's book entitled Haw to Bring Up Chil- dren, To Miss Martens we leave three dozen new, long candles for National Honor Society inductions, and a secretary to write out tardiness slips. To Mr. Stalker we bequeath a motor scooter to use in recruiting a clean-up staff for next year, and an electric eye to detect those ques- tionable passes. To Miss Primer, next year’s senior adviser, sve give permission to sell the left-over potato chips from our dances — ” ‘cause you can't hardly get them kind no more,” To Mr, Cohen, also next year's adviser, we leave our left-over pop to go with the left over potato chips. To Miss Rauber we reward a two weeks1 vacation in Sulphur Springs sanitarium, and a supply of 1956 catalogs. To Mr. Remington we leave a troupe of male hams for next year's senior play, and our ap- preciation for a terrific production this year. To Mr. Taylor we bequeath a jar of polish for his Phi Beta Kappa pin, To Mr. Miller we leave a hurricane insurance policy, and permission to take his chem, stu- dents to a square dance so they can learn how to change partners.” To Mr. DeFran we leave a contract with the Royals, 3nd a package of ready-mixed tortillas. To Mr. Chamberlain we bequeath a new pool cue for that mysterious room in the basement. To Mr. Iman we bequeath a new bunny bag for his bucks, and the traumatic surprise that we didn't leave him a pink shirt. To Mr. Maurer we leave a chisel and a gallon of paint remover to take off red paint. To Mr. Lyders we leave a free pass to hear a performance of Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians and the hope that some day , . . To rhe lunchroom staff we bequeath a set of ster- ling silver to be used only at our class reunions- To Miss Levin we leave a new bunch of seniors who will hush their clack” as well as we do. To Mr. Betten we bequeath a mechanical brain to solve all profound computations.” To Mr. Kehrig we present some plaid Bermuda shorts and a pair of red knee socks for his future college days. To Miss Crowley we leave a sound-proof room and a new set of square pegs to go into round holes. To Mr. Scamrnell we bequeath a dry Memorial Day and a year's subscription to Downbeat magazine. To our pal, Herman, we leave a souped-up hot-rod snow plow. To Mr, Zornow we bequeath a set of typewriters that don e make mistakes so the commercial students can all get ”A‘s,” To the incoming Eighth Graders we give a com- pass and a book entitled Sense of Direction, To the present Eighth Graders we leave a pamph- let on How to Do 10 Hours of Homework in 30 Minutes. To the present Freshmen we leave a beat-up copy of A Tale of Two Cities and the hypotenuse rule. To the present Sophomores we leave the vain hope of persuading Miss Carnahan that American History Special just isn’t for them. To the present Juniors—You've arrived!
