PR1 N CIPAL MY FRIENDS OF THE CRADUATING CLASS The past year at Ben Franklin was marked by a number of successful activities and accomplishments of which we all have good reason to be proud. The Kite and Key program, initiated a year ago, has met with increasing enthusiasm from our students, the parents, and the community as a whole. As a result, we can already observe with real satisfaction the following benefits: a more favorable image of our school, a more effective vocational and educational guidance program, a busy and productive afternoon and evening study-tutoring pro- gram, organized home visiting at night, a cultural enrichment course, as well as a program involving theatre shows, orchestra concerts and visits to museums in this city and elsewhere. All of these en- riching experiences have in turn stimulated a significant increase in after school clubs and activities, and have been a factor in reducing the drop-out rate and increasing the interest in post high school education. With these wholesome, constructive results, we are encouraged to continue using every means to further develop the rich resources in ability and talent we find in many of our students. It is my sincere hope that the inspiration and motivation you received through our K 8: K program will serve you throughout a happy and successful life. I. L.
