XVait- ing there to serve us was a stall' of assistants, ready to arm us with papcr, pencils, erascrs and other parapher- nalia for the dayis Work. As the hours passed, it was not unusual to he called into one of the offices for some reasong these ottices were also the place where many of us put our talcnts to work hy delivering call slips, answering the phone, typing and performing other useful functions to aid the smooth administration of the school. Of course, there were the many inevitahle hours we spent in the classrooms. Most of the time we enjoyed the interesting suhjects and personable teachers, hut there were alway those few times when we would heconxe horcd, and would nervously sneak glances at the clock, which was seldom correct. The athletic office was an- other popular gathering place. Both hetwcen classes and after school, wc would stop here to check on the time for athletic events, turn in cligihility cards, pur- chase tickets for games or stickers for our cars, or per- haps just exchauge the latest gossip with the asistants working thcre.
