THERE VVAS A BIT UF MAGIC mixed in with tl1e spirit of o11r pro111s. It hegan long hefore filllt' for the dances, way hack when we were first discussing i11 C0111- mittees the choice of an orchestra, a suitable nzune and theme eolors. This inagie grew ill intensity, and was very apparent on tl1e day of the proins, when we worked, clad i11 sweatshirts and blue jeans, to trans- forin a IIHISS of seoteh tape, silver glitter, paste, staples and pai11t into a shiininering world of fantasy for tilt' eonling evening. XVhen the hig I'llOI1lL'llt finally did arrive, the hoys dressed in tuxedos and dark suits, while the girls put on their fluffy, billowing forinals and nervously sat down to wait. After greetings were exchanged tl1e fun really hegan. It was always neeessary to make tl1e rounds of tlllt preliniinary events, known as eoke par- ties, he-fore going to the danee. llere we adinired eor- sages, posed for pictures, eonihed o11r hair and took one last deep hreath hefore striking out for the inain event of tilt' evening. FROINI THE MOMENT we entered the huilding, we were eaught 11p in the inagieal spirit. Tl1e heauty of the deeorations, tl1e soft nnisie, the glowing lights, along with the soft rnstle of r1et and taiteta - these helped ereate an ahnost ethereal feeling tl1at neared perfeetion. For our junior proni we ehose the theine uxiflllltliglli Blistf' whieh we earried out i11 all the deeorations and eentralized i11 an big revolving nlllflflllu Dong Carinaek and Xaney Newinan were ehosen to reign over the gala oeeasion.
