Some ambitious campaign managers made party mas- cots. One class wore hadqes of Newmanite penquins while their opponents hoasted kangaroos. ON THAT ALL-IMPORTANT DAY -- election dai - one class got hoth parties to thrown the election and crown Mr. WVilliams king of Room 112, thus giving him the sovereign right to rulef' Amidst all this political rally, other students were lnusy fulfilling requirements for a new class to he ot- fered second semester, pl. Maxwell Davis was heading this campaign to estahlish an advanced lmiology class, According to his standards for the class, a student must have had an AH average in hiology and completed or he completing physics and chemistry. In this class students delved deep into the innards of squids, and sharks with handy razor hlacles, forceps, and scissors. These avid biologists also directed pigs. In addition to optional courses in Advanced biology and YVord power, at least one semester of each college- hound senior's year was devoted to Advanced Compo- sition. It was in these classes that most of us wrote our first term papers. Most of us will remeinher long nights under desk lamps and lost weekends spent in lihraiy files digging up information and references for these vital theses. And in the last week before deadline, Hle boxes became part of every Advanced Compei s attire.
