' ' F' ' - -gf -v'j' ' 7, .-1.-.,. we sought their council when problems loomed During the final year of our high school career the top post of faculty leadership changed hands. Replacing Carl Eiiler as principal, David Dudley imme- diately found his way into our hearts and activities. Cain- ing valuable experience as principal of Wheeler Grade School and Culver Grade School, Mr. Dudley entered our Bosse family circle well-equipped with a keen faculty for understanding and working with young people. Further proof of his ability for leadership may be found in the fact that Mr. Dudley was president of the local Rotary Club last year. He also held the position of director of elemen- tary education. Affairs of the upstairs ofhce, includ- ing the problems of student pro- grams, absenteeism and discipline were eiliciently supervised by Adrian Meadows, our assistant principal. Discounting those few instances when necessity demanded that he adminster some fomi of discipline, memories of our dealing with Mr. Meadows will always furnish us with pleasant reflections. We felt quite free to seek audience with our as- sistant principal at any time, upon any matter. Most frequently we turned to Mr. Meadows when problems of con- fiicting schedules confronted us. It was he who made certain that we were aware of all graduation require- ments and that we worked toward meeting them. Our personal problems received the special attention of our guidance counselor, Ralph Mayes, who helped us End the best paths to follow. Sewing as general advisor and ad- ministrator of our student govem- ment program, Mr. Mayes worked tirelessly, setting before us sugges- tions and ideas which proved bene- ficial to the entire student body. Many of us will cherish happy memories of hours we spent with Mr. Mayes working as student assistants. For others the memories will be of aptitude tests, friendly chats on vo- cations, scholarship applications, or that confusing question, Where shall I go to college? 4 In an atmosphore of cordial wannth with which she furnished her ollice, feminine affairs of our student body were handled by Miss Ena Long, dean of girls. Students merely encountering her in their regular course of high school activities found Miss Long genuinely interested in their well-being and had confidence in her guidance and judgment. Through the Girls Club Council, of which she was sponsor, many of us came to know our dean of girls intimately. Also concemed with the various extra-curricular activities at Bosse, she made general arrange- ments for ECA clubs, checked their attendance and encouraged students to participate in club activities. 4 f l
