Klub A group of enlhusiaslic Spanish sludenls, under lhe direcrion of Miss Elsie Rossello, organized a new club, wilh lhe purpose ol iurlhering lheir conversa- lional Spanish and encouraging Pan-American under- sianding. This club, called Varas Calienles, or The l-lol Rods, has noi yer become a subsidiary organ- izaiion in lhe school conslilulion. The group meels semi-monlhly on Tuesday aller- noons for planned programs, including communily singing, records, leclures and displays. Among 'rhe highlighls were a Spanish play presenled by club members and an inleresling lallc by Miss l-lelen l-lyde on her lrip lhrough Mexico. The members correspond in Spanish wilh sludenls in Soulh America: 'rhese lellers, which are read al meelings, have many in- leresling facls and ollen include piclures.
