Eddie Vxerra Barbara Baker Kenneth Liqqett Dolores Bernard Chet Carr Dorotha Price Alvin Bortisser, Henry Sandoval, and Eugene Adams, were called in lanuary with the National Guard unit frorn the Benicia Arsenal. Many of the boys and girls of the class began working, with sorne of therrr leaving school, and others going only a half day. This situation rrrade the nurrrber of senior students fluctuate often. Early in their fourth year the senior students had their pictures taken, in order to receive their finished produr'-s before Christmas. All the students were very well pleased with their portraits. A few senior girls took part in the Ctrristrrras play presented before thu Student Body, on Friday, December 15. They were, Barbara Craddick, Clara Grace, Earleene Stanhope. A Lincoln Day program was given before the Student Body on February l2, by eight senior boys under the direction of Miss Alice Crooks. Carl Pagter, chairrnany Bill Smothers, Alex De Leon, Bill Corn, Charles Glass, Eddie Vierra, Mickey Craig, and Paul Bedden gave a series of talks on Lincoln and his life. The same boys gave a repeat performance before Kiwanis members at their dinner-meeting at Spenger's Grotto the following Tuesday. The senior girls then had their turn and gave a Washington Day program before the Student Body on February 21. They were Barbara Craddick, chairmang Barbara Lambro, Clara Grace, Mary Ellen Brosch, Irene Precour, Norma Boderick, Dolores Ber- nard, and Marleen Higginson. The girls were then asked to repeat their stories and poems about Wcrsliingtori at a Congregational Church dinner on Thursday, February 22. The Mothers' and Fathers' Becepticn was next on the list of activities which the senior girls participated in, helping to serve, prepare food, arrange the auditorium, nrodel, and the many citrer Chores needed to niake the activity a success. to

It proved successful both socially and financially. Many of the twelfth grade students of B.H.S. helped during the Red Cross drive in Benicia during March. After preparing their own speeches, they were asked to give them for the Benicia Arsenal workers on three Mondays during the month. The senior sweaters were royal blue, heavy ply, cardigan style. The emblem, a Panther with a rooter's cap, intertwined in the Block B, was designed by Bernice Reed. The last part of the school year, the seniors devoted to the Senior Play, Senior Ditch Day, Senior Banquet, and other memorable dates. The seniors had a skit on March 16, in which the boys satirized the Mothers' Tear Graduation night was filled with memories of their fun-packed, hard-working and activity filled years in B.l-l.S. 18 1
