The Benet Band this year has fol- lowed a true family tradition. As a whole, the group seems to break the barriers of distance and age between students often found in other activi- ties. The band is filled with talented individuals, all acting as a unit. A perfect example of unit perform- ance is the Marching Band. This year, the Marching Redwings high- lighted many local parades as well as parades in Waukegan and down State Street. One must also remember the commendable half-time shows pre- sented at all home football games. The Concert Band performed its traditional Christmas and Spring Concerts to packed houses. The 1812 Overture and Handel ' s Alleluia Chorus were featured numbers. The Flag Corps ' enrollment dou- bled this year. Many students who are not in band participate actively in this group. As usual, the Pep Band kept feet tapping and Pom pons in swing at home basketball games. The Stage Band, wearing tuxedos, performed their unique style of music at teachers dances and were featured at the Variety Show. Most importantly, when one thinks of Benet Band , the name Andrew Marchese comes immediatley to mind. Coach is the man behind the band. His ideas, musical inter- pretations, talent, patience and time make the Benet Redwing Band a true family unit. m Mft i f Band Maintains Family Tradition
