Elite-Eight

We turned out in droves for March Madness games, screaming Moser! Moser! ; Osh! ; Collins! Collins! P.C. ' ; Juice! ; and Big Mack Attack! in honor of our starting five. Basketball fans crawled out of the woodwork and parents stood to see the games; their enthusiasm sparked our cries of Defense! Defense! During the regional final game against Naperville North, we per- fected our new Whoosh-Face! as the Wings sank 21 perfect free throws. From there we cheered the team on to victories over West Au- rora, Glenbard North, and Rockford Boylan as they earned their passage to the Elite-Eight and Assembly Hall. But we had known from the begin- ning — had shouted Where ' re we goin ' ? State! State! since Naper- ville Central. And finally we were there, surviving long bus rides and frantic searches for lodgings near Cham- paign, battling it out with the Quincy fans. Watching their disjointed attempts at Whoosh, we nudged each other as if to say — now the originators are here — Here ' s how it ' s done! As fans we gave our all, as a team they gave their all. And then there was the last chant — We are proud of you, say, we are proud of you! Sweet Sixteem

In the second year of his coaching, Mr. Joe Kilbride led the Sophomore Basketball Team to an overall record of 19-2 and a conference record of 10-2, achieving a second place con- ference position in the process. This year ' s exciting season included such triumphs as first place in the Wheaton-Warrenville tournament and the defeat of Chicago Catholic League ' s previously undefeated St. Pat ' s. The team ' s post season will revolve around the Wheaton Central tournament where the Redwings are seded first.
