Miss Kramer. Lewis. Jeanne Lambke, Robin Lewis. Court- Girls Take Conference The 1981 tennis season was sup- posed to be a rebuilding year for the girls ' team. Yet the varsity Redwings coached by Stephanie Lewis finished an outstanding season winning the Naperville Central Invitational, cap- turing both the WSCC championship and the Wheaton Warrenville district title, as well as placing eighteenth in state competition. The frosh soph netters won the conference championship and took two individual championships titles: Meg Sullivan at first singles and Hon- or McDonnel Michelle Leoatti at first doubles. At the conference meet, Varsity took all five individual cham- pionships. (Freshman) Robin Kram- er, (senior) Mary McDermott, and (junior) Kim Rice took the singles ti- tles while Courtney and Whitney Bobosky, and Jeanne Lambke and Robin Lewis won the doubles titles. In the district competition, which the Redwings won with a total of 12 points, Kim Rice and Meg Sullivan filled the singles spots. The doubles teams of Mary McDermott Robin Lewis and Courtney Whitney Bobosky qualified for the state tournament finishing first and second respectively. y v

At the state meet in Arlington the Boboskys completed a total of three matches. McDermott and Kramer reached the final sixteen before bow- ing out to the eventual fourth place champion. They then proceeded to reach the quarterfinals of the con- solation bracket, playing a total of seven rounds, a promising outlook for the years to come.
