a: Mr. Charles Brummel, English III, Humanities, (Above Left): Mr. Brummel loves to garden, both vegetables and flowers. Nothing tastes as good as something you ' ve grown yourself. He also likes to rake leaves, mow grass, and shovel snow. With these things there is an immediate reward. Mr. Brummel considers himself a basically home- oriented person who loves his family and enjoys spending time with his children. Mr. Tim White, Adv. Composition and Literature, English II, (Above Right): Each day when I finish my duties here, I retire to a little room on the 4th floor of St. Joseph ' s Hall where I correct papers and prepare tests and assignments for the next day. That is my hobby. I love to cor- rect papers. I have opportunities some nights to travel to the football field where I walk in circles exploring the track and back and forth checking the lines on the field. On my travels I have organized the moles who live within the fence, and we construct a hole each year where the 20 yard stripe meets the west sideline. I also entertain the spirits, organized by Br. Edward, who live on the fourth floor with me, by playing the air guitar while correcting papers of course. Mr. William Conley, English III. Adv Speech, (Center Left): Mr. Conley ' s many hobbies include building furni- ture, tennis, reading, and drama. His musical interests range from blues to jazz to rock to classical. Mr. Conley has spent two months in London to see the British theatre and to experi- ence the culture and history of the city. His travels incorporated side trips to Paris and the English coun- tryside. Mr. Conley spends his spare time enjoying his two year old son grow and learn about his world. Sr. Mary Regina Dubina, O.S.B., En- glish II, (Center Right): As treasurer of the Sacred Heart Community, Sis- ter Regina is involved in practical ev- eryday money matters. This position involves her in many of the Convents committies including Retirement Fund, Finance and Building and Grounds. Sister also serves on the Benet Finance Committee and has been Secretary Treasurer of the Con- ference of Religious Treasurers of Illinois for the past two years. At Be- net she sponsors the Sacred Heart Service Society. Sr. has traveled to Washington D.C., Alaska, Califor- nia, Switzerland and Italy and hopes to one day visit the Holy Land. Swimming to Sr. Regina is a favorite sport during the summer and her win- ter-time hobby is sleeping.

John also holds the only Ph.D. on the teaching faculty. Miss Carol Lukowski, French II, III, IV (Lower Left): In her time away from the football passgate. Miss Lukowski usually finds herself plan- ning a vacation. Having traveled ex- tensively in France and having seen so many beautiful places, she now plans to explore the four corners of the U.S.A. and hopes to visit the northeastern section in the near fu- ture. Her other pastimes include ten- nis and piano lessons. Fr. Paschal Honnor, O.S.B., Latin I (Below): Returning to the Benet family after three years absence, Fr. Mr. Ken Kane, English III, Adv Com- position and Literature, American Literature, (Right): When he ' s not trying to get caught up on paper work, Mr. Kane spends much time golfing and reading. He also often finds himself defending the perform- ances of the Bears and White Sox. Miss Mary Beth Hammond, English I and II, (Above Left): Beside working on late night yearbook deadlines. Miss Hammond ' s favorite pastimes are dancing, and attending theatre and dance productions. She has stu- died Ballet and Jazz dance for a num- ber of years. Mr. Dave Gotmer, English I and III, (Center Left): a C.C.D. teacher at St. Joan of Arc since 1969, Mr. Gotmer used to chaperone 7th and 8th grades to London. His past trips have in- cluded visits to Ireland, Britian, France, Spain, Italy, and Greece. This previous summer he traveled to Germany, Austria, and Wales. Mr. Gotmer ' s favorite sport is water skiing, but he most enjoys accom- panying students on trips, finding the canoe trip re-enforces his faith in people in general and students in par- ticular, as he watches them handle the challenges of the wilderness and community interaction as they learn about themselves. Sr. Florence Jindrich, O.S.B., Media Arts, (Below Left): Sr. Florence is a member of several choral groups in- cluding the convent choir, the IBC chorus and the Joliet Festival Chor- us. Sister enjoys crafts par- ticularly hairpin lace, latch hook and needle point. Mr. Stracco, English I, II, (Below Right): Mr. Stracco was raised in New Jersey, which he claims is more than parking lots and factories, but he loves corn fields and flat windy land, so he came to Chicago. Comp., (Center): Mr. Fogarty has been going to school, either full time or part-time, or summers ever since kindergarten. Besides a BA from I. Mr. Fogarty is an early morning person; he tries to get up before 6 o ' clock every morning (even Saturdays and Sundays!). After the Papers Are Corrected . . .
