Mr. Marchese, Band Director, (Above Left): Mr. Marchese directs a variety of bands including the Begin- ning Band, Cadet, Varsity Marching, and Stage. At I. B.C. he directs the stage band. He performs constantly with his own band, and, of course, he is one of the most outstand ing trum- pet players in the country. Mrs. Carol Kusulas, Typing and Business, (Above Right): A mother of two daughters, Mrs. Kusulas grew up and went to college in Boston, MA. She has various interests includ- ing graduate studies, and playing ten- nis, and music, especially piano. Mrs. Kusulas is also a member of the American Association of University Women in Naperville. Mr. Zimmerman, Technical Draw- ing, (Opposite Page Left): Beside teaching courses in Technical Draw- ing, Mr. Zimmerman assists the Dean ' s office in locker assignments each fall.

To Serve Is the Key Mr. Frank C. Bucaro, Religion I, II, (Above Left): Mr. Bucaro, the soph- omore religion teacher received his MA in Religious studies from Munde- lein College. He is married and has two daughters, ages 8 and 5, and is a partner in his own consulting firm. Ministry Development Consultants. Organizations of which Mr. Bucaro is a member include the National Catholic Education Association and the Professional Youth Ministers Association. Sr. Mary Bratrsovsky, O.S.B., Reli- gion I, II, III, (Above Center): Beside her work at Benet and the priory, Sr. Mary is involved in two other major activities. As a member of the Sacred Heart Community ' s Vocation Formation team, her responsibilities include helping interested women discern if Benedictine life is for them, both before and after they enter the community. In her spare time. Sister enjoys gardening, and with several other sisters starts plants in the greenhouse and does all the work, including canning and freezing of the garden produce. Fr. Jacob Hillyer, O.S.B., (Above Right): Fr. teaches Junior religion courses. Br. Thomas Chisholm, O.S.B., Reli- gion III, (Left): As well as teaching courses in the Religion Department, Br. Tom teaches French. Fr. Julian Duerbeck, O.S.B., Religion III. (Center): In addition to his duties as Chaplain and religion teacher, Fr. Julian coordinates liturgies at the Abbey and has arranged the structure of the Abbey ' s Liturgy of the Hours. He has studied nearly half a year in Israel and takes an interest in the occult. In preparation for his World Religions class. Father enjoys read- ing history, attending the theatre and listening to Wagnerian operas. He also role plays in classes, taking the parts of Roman Persecutor Flavius Aurelius, Crusader Sir Roderick Fitzwalter at various times through- out the year. Mr. Ernest Stark, Religion IV, (Cen- ter Right): Mr. Stark coaches both Cross Country and Boys ' Track. He is one of the few teachers every stu- dent has during his senior year at Benet.

Reading, Writing, and Business Mr. Fee, Driver ' s Education, (Left): Considered one of the bravest mem- bers of the faculty, Mr. Fee serves as the driver ' s education instructor. Mr. Brian Boyer, Business, (Below Left): The father of twin sons Mr. Boyer ' s interests include wrestling and football. In his third year at Be- net Mr. Boyer assists in coaching the Freshman football team. Mr. Bill Geist, Economics, (Below Right): Mr. Geist, who is the father of five children, not only teaches Busi- ness classes here at Benet but also at I. B.C. Of course, Coach Geist is best known as one of the most outstanding basketball coaches in the state of Illi- nois.
