r m i The Human Relations Committee, run by Senior Tom Marth, organized one of the most successful drives ever for the 1981 Christmas season. Assisted by an able group of sub- committee chairpersons, Tom planned a drive which brought in about $5800 dollars through various activities such as mistletoe, donut day, and pie-in-the-face. During the week, two films on world hunger were shown in every study hall to inform students about the problem the drive attempts to relieve during Christmas each year. Students do- nated time after school to assemble mistletoe, wrap toys for the Christ- mas boxes, make stockings, and gave up the first day of their vacation to pack and deliver the gift boxes to needy families in and around Du Page County. As in past years, Br. Ed and a group of servers delivered boxes to St. Procopius Parish in Chicago. Families received ham or turkey, sta- ples such as potatoes, bread, cereal and fruit, and extras such as hot chocolate and goodies from stock- ings. Invaluable to the drive were the generous donations made by Benet Alumni and friends of the Academy. $5,800 For Charity

Just as the doldrums of the second semester set in, Midterm sprinkled a touch of magic on all. On January 30 the gym was transfigured into a mys- tical castle for all couples who en- tered. These couples were enter- tained by Unity with music that ranged from fast-beat rock ' n ' roll to slow, romantic ballads. The decora- tion of moons, stars, top hats and canes added to the Midnight Mad- ness theme. With the magically dressed freshman serving at the dance, sophomores, juniors and seniors enjoyed the gala affair of the winter season. (Above): Frank DiLeo whispers sweet nothings into his date ' s ears.
