Roughing It It began with a 12 hour Sunday bus ride on the first day and a 15 mile treck across a lake on the next. This, at first, doesn ' t sound very appealing to many, but to some it was the Cana- dian canoe trip. After the group of 40 people left the trading post in Cana- da, civilization was sparce and the peacefulness slowly become a way of life. It rained almost every day but everyone got used to being wet. The group ate dehydrated food and the fish caught with bare hands. The mosquitoes became the mascots to the canoers. This may not sound like a vacation brochure, but to many the laziness in the afternoon and the quietness at night was a wonderful way to spend 1 1 days.

THE PLACE: A YMCA not far from Soho THE STORY: The fugitives travelled far and wide in search of a Scots husband on a horse, looking in such conspicuous places as: the Tower (with keys) Windsor Castle, Hampton Court, the British Museum, the National Gal- lery, the Tube (London subway), telephone booths in the metropolitan area, Stokes Poges, Harrod ' s and the bottom of the fountain. Off limits areas opened for their convenience by theUnion included 40 miles of pas- sages in the walls of Canterbury Cathe- dral, a previously undiscovered Ro- man fort in a nearby Canterbury sub- urb, a chimney place in Hampton Court Palace, and an early morning walk to Soho. Their quest led them to the Borscht ' n Tears restaurant, to a tube race through London ' s exten- sive underground, and finally to fish ' n chips and bar mirrors in Por- tobello Road. Unsuccessful in cap- turing their prize, they turned to col- lecting bounty for a certain history teacher, Daniel Nagis, (who shall re- main nameless), for additional con- sideration. Charles Brummel was not forgotten either. Suffering from jet lag, 23 faceless zombies stalked the halls of the sacred Academy within 24 hours of the end of their ordeal, armed with only their bounties and their stories. THE MORAL: There ain ' t no cure for the Lumber- jack Blues. THE MUSIC: Under Pressure by David Bowie Get Down On It by Tripper and the Goldust Twins God Bless America by The Young Patriots
