So too, if we were asked questions concerning the origin of our most basic educational and religious training, we would undoubtedly refer to our experiences in elementary school. In both instances we would be acting in careless yet common fashions. In each case we would be overlooking two individuals, the sacrifice of whose union we owe our very existence to. It was from these two individuals-made-one, that we received our most basic, and in reality, our most important training. It was because of the example and influence these devoted individuals weighted upon our early lives, that we were later inclined toward the decision to acquire such training as we are now experiencing. It is because of the tireless labor of these two individuals, that we possess the healthy bodies and minds which make our present, scholastic and extracurricular activities possible, neglecting to mention our financial status. It is with humble gratitude and pride that we, the members of the senior class, acknowledge the perseverance of, and dedicate the 1966 Benedictine to, our parents. 8 Our PARENTS 9 - l' t - The freshmen of today are the Benedictine men of the future. It is hoped that every member of this freshman class will put forth his utmost efforts in co-operation with the priests and members of the lay faculty here at Benedictine. For it is this factor which will determine either success or failure for each one during his membership in the Benedictine family, as well as success or failure in eventually attending his goals. t p Su r . .' 1 ifevVVi 5 wsni 4f3§E§ FRESHMEN 1 1«- J This year's freshman class, class of 1969, is one of the larger groups initially enrolled here at Benedictine. In the past, Benedictine yearlings overcame numerical disadvantages with energetic determination, and continue on to help pioneer the proud Benedictine traditions. So much more then, will be expected of these freshmen, who are great in number and have these traditions readily available to encourage the pursuit of their goals. The challenges of manhood are waiting; the outcome depends on each individual. 14 T. Abbott J. Ahlin G. Abramczyk E. Allen A. Adams J. Amoto P. Adams B. Anderson J. Andrassy R. Antonelli T. For the first time, they are being confronted with the essential responsibilities and privileges of true Benedictine men. Although the culmination of the sophomore year will mark the midpoint of each individual's stay here at Benedictine, in reality it will merely be the beginning with regard to important obligations. The largest strides will be taken in the final two years by those who are well prepared to meet the challenges. 72 ' As.1 f -O: V; $• Vi -aw ® P a Imrnmmm mm. Benedictine sophomores learn the importance of facing their newly acquired responsibilities with the proper attitude. They discover that the privileges of manhood can be solely through hard work, and that without the help of God, these tasks cannot be accomplished. The purpose cf this organization is to foster the intellects of its members with regards to the varied art forms, and provide them with constructive social experience, while giving them chances to better themselves and the school. It also affords them occasions for educational enrichment through exposure to cultural assets of the community. 60 looking over lomo art work arc (left) Ron Capek, John Gecik Dominic Scoccola, James Malinak, Jim Telepak, Jim Amato Terry Smith, Tony Torok, Ron Skalak, Dave Behm, Pete Rublno, and larry Patrick fcr mini' ir to 11• • 11• 01V ptlh- •wspuper t Ik bro-i npletcd a olor film ,t to the : s of our Vo 1.313. Augustine O.S.B., the Boosters' Club has achieved their usual great success this year as in previous years. Their hard work and undertakings have made them an important asset in keeping Benedictine at its best. Dads’ Club Once again Fr. Florian O.S.B. was in charge of the Dads' Club. The Club had another fine year. Among their annual activities were the Christmas party, card party, and dinner. The Club has met monthly to attain a closer relationship between the school jnd home, and has done a wonderful job of supporting the school in all its projects. Pictured here are some of the children who were receiving presents from Santa Claus (Fr. These men are undergoing the rigorous preparations necessary to fashion the qualities of Benedictine priests and brothers, for they are bound for the future leadership of the Benedictine family and the moral, educational, and athletic guidance of youth. It is therefore hoped that these men continue to put forth their utmost efforts in cooperation with God's plans so that the past accomplishments of the Benedictines may be continued without end in the future. 73 The true meaning of work is now being realized by this class of Juniors, the class of 1967. Shortly they will be expected to assume the leadership of the school, and continue the efforts of so many of their predecessors which have acquired and advanced the distinguished reputations of the school. Aside from this, they will be facing the most important tasks of continuing their usual education, while also tending to their fast approaching vocational or college future. stills JUNIORS mmmm ;fc£' ■ ;■ j; ■ ii ni r ■r mw — M0$$0mI SV.-.T? Although this group of juniors is much smaller in number than many classes in the past, no less will be expected of them. Each individual's character will be put to the test during his remaining time at Benedictine. When the time of accounting arrives at graduation, it is hoped that each one can truthfully say that he has taken advantage of the valuable guiding efforts of the Benedictine administration. 76 T.
