.Se 3 i 5 WHILE ATTENDING the general chapter of the order of Saint Benedict Sept. 18-25 at San Anselmo college, Rome, Italy, the school president obtained from His Holiness Pope John XXIII the pontiff's apostolic blessing on the community, students, relatives and friends of Saint Andrew abbey and Benedictine high school. Going on 14 years, since June 20, 1946, an outstanding spiritual leader and administrator is reigning as abbot of Saint Andrew abbey and pres- ident of Benedictine high school, responsible with the triple charge of teaching, governing and sanc- tifying. Wherever merit is recognized, priestliness cherished, learning appreciated and administrative ability admired, the Right Rev. Theodore G. Kojis, O.S.B., rates A-plus. In addition, he presents such a fine appearance and possesses such a pleasant personality that he inspires those whom he leads and impresses all with whom he comes in contact. That Saint Andrew's and Benedictine are flourishing under Abbot Theodore is a foregone conclusion. The jobs are big but the abbot is more than adequately handling the respective offices. In particular the monks of Saint AndreW's, the secular clergy and Benedictine students readily admit that the abbot's ability, industry and expe- rience stand out. Aside from his spiritual qualities, Abbot Theo- dore is a strong and effective administrator. His knowledge and leadership in building, his special interest in Benedictine students-as mathematics and moral guidance teacher-and his devotion to fostering vocations to the priesthood and Brother- hood are among the qualities with which the abbot is identified. His grasp of the timely issues of the day assists Abbot Theodore to fulfill his obligations as an elected member to the president's council of the American-Cassinese congregation of the order of Saint Benedict.
