ANNUAL FOOTBALL BANQUET BlENlElDDllCTllNiE It has been truly said that a school and its work endures if it is fortunate in possessing a large group of loyal and devoted alumni who are faithful to its traditions and ideals. That such, is the case here at Benedictine is amply proved by the wholehearted zeal and tireless energy manifested by the alumni in their various proj- ects and social events. Knowing the value of a good Catholic educa- tion, the Alumni have been providing scholar- ships to promising students. ln addition to this charitable venture, they have sent many a boy to us in virtue of a good word for their Alma Mater. DOMINOES Although the Dominoes have been in existence for only two years. they have gained prestige as being one of the top booster clubs of Benedictine. Hiith the help of lfather kleroine, school chaplain. the club has aided not only in arousing school spirit but also in fostering religious spirit. 'lihe biggest undertaking of the cluli was the eonstruction of a mammoth poster which conveyed the following message: The school that prays together stays together. The Dominoes also co-sponsored the Snowflake Hop, the proceeds of which were donated to the Shrine lfund. At these meetings the lncas discussed ways in which they could support the various school athletic teams and other school activities. As their main project of the year, they chose to support the Shrine drive. Composed exclusively of seniors, every member did his best to aid this senior- sponsored project. The proceeds of the pre-Advent Snowflake Hop, which they co-sponsored, were donated toward the building of the proposed Shrine. ln the latter part of January, the members filled the halls with signs reminding students to honor Mary by donating to the Shrine drive. i fmt v MEMBERS MODEL CLUB JACKETS E Q Q POSTER I-'OR SHRINE DRIVE S01 mul Ram' - Iiullom Ron' - F. EAST STDE BENGALS Students who attended the pep rallies and the football games agree that the members of the East Side Bengals Club cheered the loudest and longest of all. This club has tal-:en its rightful place among the many booster clubs in the school because of its distinctive pro- motion of school spirit during the football season. lldifying also was the faithful attendance of the members at Mass. CLUB 505' The least known booster club at Benedictine, but one which has done a lot of good work is Club 505, which is under the direction of Mr. Porowski. This club, which consists of the students of Mechanical Drawing IIF, has supported the football team by its attendance at Mass, and also had Masses offered for the safety and success of the team. The preparatory experi- ences gained in previous Charity games facilitated the task to a great extent, but the atmosphere was still filled with tension and excitement. The big game aroused the highest kind of loyalty and spirit in the students. The hallways were decked with a variety of original postersg the students at- tended Mass and Benediction and ofTered up their prayers for the success and protection of the team. At the pre-Charity game assembly, Benedictine was honored with the presence of many guests. XYe extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Ted YYall, Mr. Roy Seitz, Mr. Alvin Staufer and Mr. Ray Libengoot for their invaluable assistance. Deserying of mention are Mr. Fred Kiessling and Mr. George Ebert for the professional job of printing. We also owe a note of thanks to Mrs. Francis Hevker for the striking eoyer and fine binding. But, most of all, to our eo-advisors, Father Fabian and Mr. Steve Vargo, we say our special thanks, for without their help we would not have been able to complete this edition. It is our sincere hope that the Annual will meet with warm approval and that it will become for you a keepsake oyer which, in the busy years ahead, you may often ponder as you reliye in memory your happy high school days.
