At the inception of anything new, there will always be an emphasis on the people who were there from the beginning. But there will also be those people who experience the new and remember the old, peo- ple who were around before the change and can say that they know both sides. Benedictine College is new, and for three-fourths of the students it is all they know. However, there is one class that knew the school as it was. They spent their first year at either St. Benedict's College or Mount St. Scholastica College. They are the last students ever to be able to say that they knew the school as it was. They are the only students remaining who can give a comparison of Benedictine College and the former colleges of St. Benedict's and lVlount St. Scholastica. As a tribute, a congratulations, and a thank you, the staff would like to dedicate this 1973-1974 New Raven annual to the class of '7-4. 5
