if 916911 1946 1947 'SEPTEMBER 14 1946 The Class of 1950 entered the Academy and soon found that hrgh school 1S not always all work and no play 'SEPTEMBER 25 1946 lrutratron that fearful word wlorch tnrew every one rnto a frenzy f1rst srgns were put on us then nats whrch were not made by Lrly Dache The Class of 49 gave a party and we were the enter tarners rmaglne go ng to a party where the guests do all the work 'NOVEMBER 1946 Our b1g srsters the JUHIOTS took us on an outlng to Garret Mountarn Sometrmes ho dogs cant be cooked r1ght Even the ram drdnt damp n our sprrlts mores 1nv1ted us to Rad1o Crty Muslc Hall where we saw T111 the Clouds Roll By 'CHRISTMAS 1946 Among all the 1QSl1V1l1GS the freshmen entertarned the sophomores at the party Everyone enyoyed herself and the vacatron whrch followed was well earned 'IANUARY 1947 When N9 returned mrd year exams darkened three whole days After the exams the freshmen class attended therr frrst retreat For a few days we could almost see the halos 'FEBRUARY 1947 The new term brought to the Academy Elarne lo sephrne lane and Dolores They had twrce as much vtork as everyone else but durrng the hot sprrng days whrch followed thelr classes were the envy of the grrls because they were held outdoors 'IUNE 1947 Graduatron arr1ved and we the freshmen became sopho mores at last we were no longer the lowlrest of all PQTH I947 I948 'SEPTEMBER 1947 We returned as sophomores only to learn that we had been d1v1ded lnto two sect ons But Joy came to us after f1nd1ng out that we were to occupy the two front rooms whrch had been prevrously reserved or senlors 'OCTOBER 1947 Where are the Freshmen? To thelr complete hor ror they all became B A g1r1s through 1n1t1at1on 'NOVEMBER 1947 Prnk Cham pagne w1th the able asslstance of Srster Ann Veronrca and Mrss Kerr the Class of 59 became the most pop ular class of the Academy We re sure that no one wrll ever forget A1 lolson or our other celebrrtres who graced the gym s makeshrft stage 'MARCH 1948 Durrng Lent the g1r1s at the Academy never forgot once that rt was a tlme for penance and grvrng up the sweet llttle thlngs whrch seemed very rmportant at that trme 'APRIL 1948 Poppa won t you dance wrth me? for the f1rst trme rn the hrs tory of the Academy Daddy got h1s fhng at the Father Daughter Drnner and trred to outshrne us when rt came to dancrng We can waltz too you know 'MAY 1948 The Sprlng Formal we Sophs really had a nlght out Every one must have had a good trme be cause we were tallcmg about rt for months 'IUNE 1948 Thrs year rt meant some thrng more We were los ng our b1g srsters some of whom we would prob ably never see agarn Our tears were not tears only of sorrow but also of dehght because we were now lunrors next to the very top 1948 I949 'SEPTEMBER 1948 When we re turned we found that we had a new 66 O U L ri I A -E , I II ' II V 1 1 , fx . . . pr1nc1pal Slster leanne d Arc We are sure everythrng was lust as strange to her as 1t was to us When St Scholas trca s Hall was added to the campus we reahzed we were growrng by leaps and bounds 'OCTOBER l948 BA s movlng men we earned thrs honorary trtle by movlng desks back and forth and books from one shelf to another 'NOVEMBER 1948 Not only drd Thanksg1v1ng arrrve but so d1d our rlngs The most beautrful rmgs you have ever seen although we drdnt see too clearly that day Perhaps It was the tears whlch flowed llke wrne 'DECEMBER 1948 lt was our turn to g1ve the Annual Prom w1th the help of Slster Ann Veronrca The dance was held at the Moresgue rn West Orange because the Class agreed that 1t had atmosphere Our efforts were not rn va1n for everyone had a marvelous trme 'MARCH l949 Our retreat schedule was changed Prevlously the classes had separate retreats but thrs year we had only one Our retreat master was Father V1g1l OFM who gave very eloquent lectures 'APRIL 1949 The Athletlc Assoclatlon sponsored the Sport Hop whrch was held at the Sherbrook 1n Llttle Ferry 'MAY l949 The Annual Mother Daughter Luncheon at the Moresgue The guest speaker was Father Vlqll 'IUNE 1949 Th1s was gurte a month for on Iune 2 the grrls of the Academy sard therr formal goodbyes to the Class of 49 Class Day was held at the R1dge wood Country Club and we can strll hear the mothers and daughters say mg what a pleasant t1me they had The next thlng on the agenda was the boat rrde to Rye Beach everybody re turned from the tr1p sunburned and all laughed out Wrth Iune clos mg 1n on us we looked forward to grad QUUQ uatron for as the tassels of the Semors Caps were moved from the left to the rlght we realrzed that we were the Semors 1949 1950 'SEPTEMBER 1949 The Mass of the Holy Ghost was celebrated by Father V1g1l 1n order that we rmght have a holy and successful school year 'OCTOBER l949 When we frnally got settled thrngs started to happ n On the nmeteenth the Junlors and senrors vrsrted the Unrted Natrons at Lake Success lt was gurte an occas1on Many of us had never v1s1ted the U N before and we were 1mpressed by 1lS organ1zat1on and work At the end of the month the Senlors gave a Hal lowe en party whrch was one of the spooklest How drd you l1ke the Cham ber of Horrors 'P Fasc1nat1ng wasnt 1t'l 'DECEMBER l949 The freshmen were recelved 1nto the Sodallty and we December eleventh was the date f the lnformal Socral whlch was grven by the Art Club and the r1ng of laughter and muslc can st1ll be heard Srnce November the senrors 1n the Dramatrc Club have been practrcrng for the play The Ugly Duckllng whrch was the h1t of the season so the cr1t1cs say at the Chrlstmas Party The Senrors were the guests of the Junror class at the Annual Prom whrch was held at the Chantrcler rn Mrllburn on the twenty erghth 'IANUARY l95O Back to school after the long holrday and 1t doesnt seem poss1ble that our last year ln hrgh school IS half over Before we know rt we shall be marchrng down the a1sle to the stra1ns of Pomp and Crrcum stance We hope that the classes whrch follow w1ll gather as many pleasant memor1es as we possess PqThty IQ 't ll - ' I all started to prepare for Christmas ....
