Valedictor Parents, teachers, schoolmates, and guests: On behalf of the senior class, I should like to welcome you to our graduation exercises, We are happy that you are here, for it is only right that you, who have helped make this night possible for us, should be pres- ent to share with us one of the most important occasions in our lives, Graduation has a different meaning for all of us here tonight, To some it means the complemon of their formal education, To others it serves as a stepping stone to other schools, To all of us, however, it is the attainment of a goal toward which we have been working for twelve years, Much has been accomplished in those years, The primary reason for education is giving each individual opportunities to develop his personal ity and abilities in order to make of himself a worthwhile citizen who can fit into the position HE is to occupy in life and benefm those around him, It would be strange if we had not accomplished much, for the opportunities given us have been plentiful If we have not taken advantage of these opportunities, we have only ourselves to blame, However, I believe that all the seniors wiD.agree with me when I say that the knowledge and etper ience gained in Benedict School will enable us to leave its guidance and travel quickly abng the paths whih each of us wIU.take toward oth r goals This would not have been possible had it not been for the efforts and utmost cooperation of you, our parents, our teachers, and our community I would Mke to leave this thought with the underclassmen You are extreme ly fadmnate to be surrounded by men and women who constanuy work with your best interests foremost in their thoughts, Always bear in min tcatitisto your advantage to apply yourself and respond to tH61T efforts with cooper ation and enbrt of your own, for then yoa are behaving in an adulq 1nteDi gent manner which enables you to have happier and more profitable cnool years You owe such an attitude to them for it is the only way that you have of showing your appreciation to them, And now, on behalf of the members of the graduating class I sholld like to thank all of oar parents, teachers, and friends for al ays being near and ready to help us when we turned to you for guidance, We will al ways be grateful to you for it Thank you very much Mary Hanllne Salutatory Parents, teac ers, and friends Tonight is s very important occasion An occasion which we have finally reached through hard work and the understanding and tactfulness of our teachers and parents The seniors and I want to welcome yol to our gr duation exercises, I want to thanr the members of the board of education who have made it oosslble for us to receive as extenslv an education as me have Although we have attained oar goal, we vill not stop learning A we leave this blllding, xe will begin to face the big proglem fue future, The future may be just aroand the corner, but whatever is in store for as, we will remember the s1gn'ficance of school and endeavor to get ahead We will learn dnlle we can and e shall benefit by it later Where do you gather isdom?
