C ass to A class of thirteen green and witty freshmen, we entered the doors of higher education in l9l+9 With us then were: Cleetis Carlson, Leila Emken, Allen Farley, Lowell Helden, Mary Heser, Nancy Kops, Norma Moore, Eugene Rests, Gordon Taylor, Ellen walkup, Shirley walkup, Nadine watson, and Carolyn Ziemke These thirteen elected Norma Moore as president for the year with Mrs Harriet walker as class sponsor After having scrambled safely through the freshmen year we again found ourselves back at B H S as silly sophomores Norma was again elected president and Miss Thelma Gilmore was our sponsor we entered our third year of high school with high hopes and elected Allen Farley as president and Mrs Hester Timmons as sponsor In the fall of 1952, thesame thirteen, now as dignified seniors entered the building for the last year, with Mr William F Davenport as sponsor, Norma Moore as president, Eugene Reetz as vice president, Carolyn Ziemke as secretary, and Ellen walkup as treasurer As we pass through the final doors of Benedict High School we look down the line and see that the same lucky thirteen are still with us Through our moments ofpleasure and through our moments of discouragement our class has stuck together as we have reached the highest step at Benedict High Sc ool ass Son we, the class of '53 Now as we say good ye, We' l have to part with dear old friend And hope we'll meet again From dear old B H S we'll take our memories Of all the fun we've ha each year, We'll treasure kind and dear There are thirteen in our class, we'll miss the other kids we'll miss the teachers kind and dear, Who've taught us all four years To them we'll pay a tribute, For all the things we've learned, Into the future now we go, So we'll say NGood bye' Carolyn Ziemke and Ellen Walkup Class Colors Blue and Silver Class Flower Yellow Rose Class Motto They conquer who believe they can O I Hls ry Mary Heser and Cleetls Carlson 46 1 3, A - v,
