' 111 .1 '1 J .,,, 11 M. 1. fv111 1,3 1 1 V111 111 1 11 1215 ,, M, L. 11116, C11 , B11,11f1i111 CWIOUGWI. 465 Jon Allen Morford Glass Heston' In the fall of '48 ' eighteen boys and girls entered the halls of Ivy led by Miss Wentz When roll was called those pre sent were Darrell Dovenbarger, Maxine Helden, Dale Moore, Glenr Stuhr, Janet Wright, Arthur Alms, Norman Pohl, Frances Rhoades, Richard Heser, Marlene Junge, Jon Morford, Marta Hlle, James Moyer, Raymond Dorsey, Donna Farley, Melvin Gruber, Donna Junge, High School We began our Sophomore year led by Mr Svoboda and with seventeen answering roll call Meanwhile Bonnie Jackson from York Joined the crowd making eighteen in all Her stay was very short, however, because she went back to York before the school year ended We came back as Juniors the following year led by Hrs Timmons Two of our members were captured by Thayer-Norman Pohl and Donna Junge Another member was taken from us by an acci d nt during the summer The class was saddened by Jon Horford's death When we began the last lap of our journey, we found to our delight that Donna Junge had rejoined us, and we welcomed a new comer Dorothy Rice Now as we walk through the halls for the last time, we are a group of sixteen seniors led by Mr Davenport ight boys and eight girls keep our class in balance We chose out of this group, Ray Dorsey as our President, James McLean as Vice President, Marta Hile as Secretary, and Arthur Alms as Treasurer We leave these halls new with sacred memo ries and reassurance -If gn 772 ' Q, r 1 . and James McLean. Thirty students ' took part in readings and one act plays At the District Declamatory Contest, Nadine Matson received an 'excellent' on her humorous reading, and Norma Moore's poetry reading earned a 'good.n The two readings were also given at the C.R.C. contest. The play 'Echo' was jgggg presented at both contests. Highlighting the years dramatic work was program of one act plays given on April 8. The Freshmen gave the play nwildcat Willie Gets Brain Fever.u The Sophomores presented 'Pure Gravy', and the Juniors and Seniors presented WBro- ken Rehearsal.' Five Juniors and Sen- iors gave the play 'Ladies of the Mop,' Ny.. 0 lg.- JEQJ 'Q ffc 1 JUNIOR SEIIORg as BAIQUET Two events that the members of the Junior Class look forward to are the entertaining of the seniors and faculty at a banquet, and the presentation of their class play The Hotel McCloud, on May 2nd, was the scene of the Junior benior banquet The room decorations were carried out with the motif of the rainbow Tables were decorated with the ben1or's class colors, red and gray, and bouquets of sweet peas added to the festive air Toastmaster for the evening was Allen Farley The welcome was given by Norma Moore and the response by Ray Dorsey Mr Davenport also gave a short speech Music included numbers by the girls' trio, and a solo by Carolyn niemke On the evening of November 19th the Junior Class presented a three act farce comedy, 'Danger Millie At work The play related the troubles of a mischevlous boy, Millie Vaughn, and his friends The entire class had a part in the play cast Directing the play was Miss uilmore JUTIOR CLASS PLAY aff?
