Woodward GIRLS' ATHLETIC CLUB GIRLS' ATHLETIC CLUB One of the nice events of the school year was a Girls' Athletic Club Banquet on Monday, February 12th at 7:30 P, M, at the El Rancho, Enjoying either a Sirloin beef or pork dinner with all the trimmings were present and former G, A, C, members and guests: Mr. T. N, Lamb, Superintendent, and Mrs. Ruth L. Bills, Assistant Superintendent, Miss Shirley Bender former G, A,C, President installed the following officers after the dinner: President -- Marlene Moleski Corresponding Secretary -- Joann Stevens V. President -- Betty Dubenin Recording Secretary -- Eva Denason Treasurer -- Jerrie Tippin Spotlight Reporter -- Gertrude Parnes Miss Gertrude Helms, the club's sponsor, proudly presented pins and guards, which were earned under the club's point system, to the following girls at the banquet: Shirley Bender, Beverly Brooks, Rosalee Darling, Eva Denason, Betty Dubenin, Marcella Hebert, Gertrude Parnes, Pat Perreault, Joann Stevens, and Ierrie Tippin, Only girls who hold a sports letter earned in cheerleading, field hockey, basketball, soft- ball, or track may join the club in the first six weeks of every school year, The G, A,C, has a point-earning system for all athletic activities engaged in by the members, When 500 points are earned a pin is awarded, 1, ooo points a G,A,C, emblem, and for 2, ooo points a girl can earn either a sports sweater or jacket, ' 61
