The story develops around the desire of a housekeeper to have her sisters live with her in the home of a rather frivo- lous widow. This housekeeper, Ellen, is unsuccessful in proselyting the widow to her ideas and is forced to kill her. Attempting to keep hersecret from the widowls newphew and the maid, she hides the body in the fireplace. Only when the nephew decides to steal the money which is hidden in the fireplace does the climax to this intriguing and fascinating play come.
