They considered various methods of making school buildings larger and of transporting stu- dents to them but finally decided the best possible solution would be to build a new high school in the north end of town. To finance these plans, the board proposed a bond issue. Dr. T. O. Smith Superintendent September 13 1950 Mr Lawrence Olpin was commis- sloned as the architect of the high school. Temporary plans were made and presented to the board of educa- tion and the superintendent After the plans were ac- cepted bids were open to the public. ehool bond issue Won December 3, 1949. The 351,414,000 issue proposed by the school system was bal- loted upon by the public. Actually, the making of a meaningful yearbook - one that is more than iust a picture album - is a complex process, requiring creative ideas for theme and layout, along with a smooth-working plan of organization. CW TO EDITOR MARY LOU RANDALL, ADVISOR JACK BOYLE, AND THE T954 CLANSMAN STAFF. A part of our iob is to help each editor achieve a distinctive personality for his book. We sit down together and work out ideas for original theme, art treat- ment, and copy. Our proven plan for handling the hundreds of production de- tails gives the editor more time for act- ual editing. Our flexible lithographic process gives yearbook planners great freedom in use of artwork, pictures, and color. Specify Wheelwright Lithography for your next book.
