V ART An opportunity to create with our own hands. individuality. in the beginning of study painted windows highlight experiment with various media each holiday. each successive year of art mural of student life centers on more enhances upper lobby. concentrated study, TWO OUTSTANDING art students, Cathy Swanson and Debbie Watkins, work on the stu- dent life mural which now hangs in the upper lobby. The mural was onel of the projects undertaken by the fourth-year art class. JOSEPH SHANKLAND, Smitl1's art teacher, talks with Dr, Gross Evans, a curator of the National Art Gallery in Washington. YOUNG ARTISTS present their work at the 1966 spring art exhibit in commons area. 66
