mselves to the future 0 Ben Dmfis The new Ben Davis High School was dedicated on Sunday, November 7, 1965, climaxing months of planning and work on the part of many, many people. A performance by the Marine Band, the Belles of Indiana, a coaches, basketball game, and a program by music groups highlighted a special dedication week. On Sunday, citizens from the Ben Davis community and elsewhere gathered in the gymnasium for the formal dedication cere- monies, followed by an open house featur- ing students at work in classrooms. The guest speaker was Dr. C. W. Jung from Indiana University. At the dedication, the library was named in honor of Charles H. Cheerleader Julia Jackson bursts through a paper hoop to lead the basketball team onto the floor at Senior Night at the Decatur Central basketball game. A busy, but quiet place in the school is the library. Pupils go to the library to read, do research, and relax with a magazine. The extensive library facilities are also open to the public two even- ings a week. Mr. Adams, principal, adjusts the public address system before the moming announcements.
