N . ,.. l Nlenilwrs of Mr. Donald Hansell's English VI class study American literature, a required course at Ben Davis. 10 A Variety O Speeches, sparkplugs, poise, and paint. The 1800 students of Ben Davis, representing a variety of backgrounds and interests, keep the classrooms busy with a multitude of subjects. Preparing Wayne Township students with not only a good background of the basic sub- jects, but also an adequate knowledge of other general topics keeps B. D. ranked high scholas- tically. Everything from the classics, represented by Latin, to the advanced sciences, with Physics, is offered at Ben Davis. Work was cited at the end of the year and awards were reaped in a variety of subjects, from art to drama and choir to chemistry. Student librarians, driver's ed. students, and members of the trigonometry class are just a few examples of interested students taking ad- vantage of the host of subjects offered at Ben Davis.

Although adding beauty to the Ben Davis campus, the new Industrial Arts Building con- fused many of the upperclassmen, as well as the freshmen. Very soon, though, 'all of the stu- dents were very pleased with and proud of the new addition. It has benches com- plete with drawers and board, and two blue printing machines. The blue printing machines will duplicate many things for other departments of the school. The machine shop has added 11. new lathes, and a vertical mill- ing machine, a surface grinder, two pedestal grinders, a metal shaper, a band saw, a drill press, .land a heat treat furnace. The M fpment from the two small Admdshops has been combined, fiaking one of the best equippel lwoodshops in the state, Mr. Cot- ii ' i-A-::d-,. Biology Laboraior Boasts Equipment Plastic models of the heart piratory system, digestive sy and brain are just part oi equipment in the new biology oratory in Wayne Central 31 But that laboratory is ji forerunner of what is hoper in the future, commented Robert Seeman, head of the sc department.
