Those of us who walked past the door, enioyed seeing adults sitting at desks, looking like pupils for a change. On Tuesday, at roll room, the results of these meetings were passed on to us. Teachers were an important part of our lives. Sometimes d about them. But most of us realized that they were human beings who sincerely liked young people. Dolores Kent, office worker, reports to Mr. Charles Vance, principal, for dictation. Oltice practice girls relieved the busy administrator of many routine chores. THE OFFICE WAS THE CENTER OF ACTIVITY MR. VANCE'S DAY was one of problems. I if Administering the largest township school l in the United States was a difficult and complex iob and required many more hours than the usual eight spent by most business men. Besides his full day, he spent many nights a week attending school affairs. i His iob required an almost encyclopedic knowledge of everything taking place in H y three buildings. 12
