BOOSTERS FOR BEN DAVIS Two years ago, a new organization, The Booster Club, was organized at Ben Davis by Mr. Bernard DeWitt. All students of the school were eligible to become members and at present there are 500 enrolled. The Booster Club outlawed all unnecessary noise- making and booing at athletic events. Their motto is Good Sportsmanship. After the first year, many other schools in Marion County followed the Ben Davis pattern of good sportsmanship and organized similar clubs. The by- laws of the club contained articles providing for the presentation of sportsmanship trophies to the best athletes, and also for a project to benefit the entire school. An annual dance was the means by which the necessary funds were provided. The club purchased a 'I6mm. movie camera which was used to film games for use in a training pro- gram by the athletic department. At the time the Keyhole went to press, this year's winners of Sportsmanship awards had not been announced.
