lllrlfrlllalt. .., H H BHSKET BELL TEHfTl The Ben Davis Second team consisting of practically all new recruits, completed a very successful season this year. The team got a bad start at the beginning of the season, but towards the end was showing more improvement. we believe, than any other second team in late years. Although the team did not win fifty per cent of its games. winning seven and losing thirteen it was rapidly improving. From fifteen to twenty men were carried throughout the season. thus giving more boys a chance to show their worth. Most of the squad will be back next year, and Mr. Haviland, the coach, claims that any Five will give the Varsity a good game. FRESl-llTlFllW BHSKETBFHLI. TEHlTl With great pride and pleasure we salute our 1951 Freshman Basketball team Practice sessions were held in the old gym nasium and then the boys played their scheduled games on regular sized courts We expect to see several of the boys in varsity or reserve uniforms nevt fall The record of the team was not impressive but they showed good sportsmanship in winning three games while losing six The victories were over Plainfi ld Xkfashington and Warren Central Defeats were from Plainheld Anderson twice Shortridge and Southport twice The team is composed of Carl Rippy Marshall Murry Edwin Stegmoller Paul Seaman Gene Casady George Hawley Robert Reems Artist Curbaux and Jack Miller Tommy Hamilton is the Student Manager for the freshman team Mr H fTopsyj Blair is coach If 9 i ' Vi . 4 .
