HE hrstory of the Class of l944 began tn seventh grade 1938 Mary Lou Carlson was elected Pres1dent wtth Mrs Stevens as advtsor We had sev eral roller skatmg parttes ard sponsored a Valentme Dance The next year Glenwood Stowell was at the helm ln l94U we became pea green Freshmen about to start our four years ot htgh school We elected l-lelen lane Brown as Prestdent Durmg the year we had several skatmg partros and a class p1cn1c at Mrdway Park tn lune Cltnton Scoheld took hrs posttlon as Prestdent m our Sophomore year and we started to take our school work more sertously Beverly Wrlltamson began ker career as Vtce Prestdent m th1s year wtth Mary Lou Carlson and Mary Beth Sullrvan sharmg the Jobs ot Treasurer and Secretary respecttvely M1ss Thomas and Mr Green took charge ot us tn our luntor year Mary Beth Sullrvan was elected Presrdent Our ltrst money makmg attempt was the selllng of statlonery Alter Easter the candy counter was turned over to us by the Senrors The happtest moment ot the year was when we recetved our Senlor rmgs We had a party for the Sentors whtch we all entoyed very much One of the mam events of thts year was the May Dance at whtch leannette Shepardson and lohn Vanstrom re1gned as Klng and Queen wtth Mary Lou Carlson and Cltnton Scolteld as luntor attendants At last we enter on the last mtlestone of our htgh school ltle wtth M1ss Spooner as our very capable advrsor Esther Samuelson ts our Prestdent and edrtor of the oenror Annual Our Sentor Play Brother Goose was an out standmg success bemg the mo t tmanclal success ol any Senlor Play pre sented at Bemus Pomt Htgh School Th1s gave us our start towards funds tor the Annual We have presented tw o movtes and sponsored Becreatton Ntghts to ratse money for the Annual We started work on tt tn lanuary and worked dtllgently on tt unttl Aprtl l when 1t went to press A Leap Year Dance was presented 1n March bemg the most successful dance we ever sponsored lohn Vanstrom and Clmton Scolteld araduated m lanuary The class had a slergh r1de party for them rn February prtor to thetr entertng the servrce Th1s reduced our class to 26 Wtth the Commencement SXGTCISGS and presentatton ot drplomas the l-lrstory of the Cla s of l944 closes Z' is AQ?
