Of her many instruments, she ploys the oboe in the symphony. Thirty-eight high school students attend the rehearsals. Each semester, the orchestra holds two concerts, and every semester there are new auditions. I like the symphony because it's a very different experience from being in band , Michelle said. She explained the difference between an orchestra and a band; a bond doesn't have the mellow sound that an orchestra has. Michelle really enjoyed it and wished more Dement people were involved. Practicing her oboe, Michelle concentrates on her music. Michelle also ploys the trumpet, flute, and piono. 12

Potty's parents hove raised and shown horses. Potty shows her horses throughout Illinois. She has 12 horses, but only shows two of them. Potty has received many owords; Most Improved Horseman Award; Reserve High Point Pleasure Horse, winning o silver bridle from Champaign County Tournament Show. I Dare You Award from 4-H, and many trophies and ribbons. Patty participated in the Piott County 4-H team at the Illinois State Fair. The team finished Second overall out of all teams from Illinois. Patty enjoyed being able to take care of the horses, riding them, showing them, and having a lot of fun. Patty said, Showing gives me a chance to meet all kinds of people from different places. Party Morris takes time out from her busy schedule to spend a few moments with her quarter horse Gold King Joey. Patty and her horse spend many hours competing in oreo horse shows. 14
