BASKETBALL AN UPWARD STRUGGLE During the 1977-78 season, the Bulldogs compiled a 13-14 record, with two wins coming in the Argenta-Oreana Regional Tournament. Bement seeded last, defeated No. 3 seeded Maroa, and No. 1 Cerro Gordo. The Bulldogs placed Dave Syfert and Scott Weakley on the All-Conference Second Team. These two boys were also coplayers of the week in the Decatur Herald for their efforts in the tournament. Dave Syfert was also elected as Most Valuable Player. 1 1.
